Wanna know what sucks?

No matter what i do, whether its learning her religion by taking a class on it, so i can be like her…

or…

joining a dance team traditional to her culture, so i can be like her… 

or…

joining a club on campus made specifically for people of her religion, so i can be like her…

or…

learning her language(s), so i can be like her…





…according to  Asian/Indian/Punjabi/Jatt culture, i can never be considered like her because to them, I’m not a just a boy, but I’m a BLACK boy. No matter if I end up finishing college, and becoming a successful teacher/author like i want, I will still never be considered good enough for her. Not because I made mistakes or anything. but because i was born with a different skin color than her. because i was born with a different skin color. simply because, i was BORN with a different skin color than hers. 


Seriously? Are you serious? I can’t be happy because of cultural norms that, morally, shouldn’t be norms anyway?  Are you serious? My happiness is out the window because of something that has nothing to do with me and her?

What did i do to deserve this?
